Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 April 2025

At Coco’s Campaign, your privacy matters — just like your pets do. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe. 🐾

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://cocoscampaign.co.uk

This is Coco’s online home for raising awareness, sharing his story, and making sure our furry friends get the justice they deserve.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent. This helps us catch spam (Coco can sniff it out, but we also use tech!).

If you use Gravatar, an anonymized string (or hash) of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service. Their privacy policy is here. Once your comment is approved, your profile pic (if you have one) will be visible next to your comment.

Media

If you upload images, please avoid including location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from images — and Coco prefers keeping things safe and private.

Cookies

We use cookies to make things smoother for you.

  • If you leave a comment, you can opt to save your name, email, and website in cookies. Handy for repeat visits. These last for one year.
  • If you visit the login page, we set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies. It disappears when you close your browser.
  • Logging in? We set cookies for your login info and screen preferences. These last for two days to a year depending on your choices.
  • Editing or publishing a post? A cookie will be saved with the post ID — no personal info included — and it expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (videos, images, etc.). These behave as if you visited the other site directly, which means they might collect data or track your interaction.

Coco only links to trusted sources — but always browse smart, like a clever pup!

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email for security reasons.

How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Comments and their metadata are stored indefinitely so we can recognise follow-up comments without moderation delays.
  • If you register on our site (if that becomes a thing), your info will be stored in your user profile. You can edit or delete it anytime — except your username. Admins can also access this info.

Your Rights

If you’ve got an account here or have left comments, you can:

  • Request a file of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to erase any data we hold (unless we’re required to keep it for legal/admin reasons).

We believe in transparency and respect — just like Coco.

Where Your Data Goes

Comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. No junk allowed in Coco’s house.

If you’ve got any questions, feel free to get in touch. We’re here to make sure your visit is both safe and biscuit-worthy.
